I’m a big fan of the 2013 Air Jordan 3 Fire Red – especially now that my 2006 pair is finally ready to bite the dust!
The shoe is a retro of an OG pair and gets its name from the colorway. My pair came with a plastic Jumpman hangtag
I’m really glad I grabbed this pair. They’ve been pretty much on ice since I copped (maybe I wore them once), but now that my 2006 pair is trashed, I have these! To me, this is the biggest advantage of Jordan Brand releasing the same classic colorways over and over. If these dropped again, I probably would pick them up!
These basically can work with any denim color. If you go with lighter denim, you probably want to stick with a light grey or white top. You can even layer that with a black hoodie. For darker denim, I’d stick with a black or grey top. That look can be layered with a grey or red hoodie. Either way, this shoe’s blocking is a bit more stark than other AJ3 colorways. Keep that in mind when putting outfits together with these.
How Are The Materials
The materials on these are so-so. You have the typical Air Jordan 3 elephant print in a dark nubuck paired up against smooth leather above the midsole and tumbled leather up top. Probably the best bit of material on the shoe is this tumbled leather, although it’s definitely a bit shiny and stiff. Still, at least there’s some texture there. This effectively makes these look more high quality than they are. Still, I’ve seen worse.
How Is The Fit
These fit true to size and are fairly comfortable. Jordan retros are typically low on comfort and require a bit of break in. While these aren’t terribly cushy, the AJ3 is in my opinion overall one of the more instantly comfy retro models. At true size these shouldn’t be too unbearable and over time should break in very nicely.
